How Are Limits Of Emf Exposure Determined In Bone Healing?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Bone healing is a physiological process that helps the repair of bone fractures. EMF or electromagnetic field is termed electrical stimulation. This stimulation can be given internally or externally and stimulates bone growth. The electromagnetic exposure is given in the low frequency magnetic and electric fields. This frequency is in the range of 0 to 300 Hz. The radiation is also conducted at radio frequency (RF). These frequencies are in the range of 10 MHz to 300 GHz.

There are concerns over the side effects of this electromagnetic field radiation. The limits for Electromagnetic field exposure are determined by studying the biological consequences that were considered to have negatives effects on health. The limits are set by International Commission on Non- Ionizing Radiation Protection. The exposure below the established EMF limits does not have negative effects. This was concluded by WHO.
