Answer Question

    There are 6 time zones in Canada, -3 GMT (Newfoundland TZ) to -8 GMT (Pacific TZ).  Most of Canada also adopts daylight savings time in summer (see dates here).  That means the time zones shift to -2 GMT to -7GMT from roughly late March to early November.  Note that most of Saskatchewan does not adopt summer time.

    Portugal is in the same time zone as Britain (GMT), and also goes forward an hour in summer (GMT+1).

    So the time difference between Portugal and Canada varies mostly depending where you are in Canada, anywhere between 3 and 8 hours.

    Examples for 6pm in each Canadian time zone, means what time in Portugal:

    Pacific 6pm -> 2am Portugal.

    Alberta TZ 6pm -> 1am Portugal.

    Saskatchewan 6pm -> 12 midnight Portugal, except in summer when it's probably 1am Portugal.

    Ontario or Quebec 6pm -> 11pm Portugal.

    Atlantic TZ 6pm -> 10 pm Portugal.

    Newfoundland 6pm ->9pm Portugal.
