What Are The Works Of Jane Austin?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Jane Austen (Dec 16 1775 to July 18 1817) was born in Basingstoke, Hampshirehad and began writing at an early age. Her family was very supportive of her talent, and initially her literature was published anonymously, as per the customs of the period. Her combination of irony, good wit, and sophisticated observations of the societal and cultural machinations among the classes epitomize the often absurd problems of inheritance, courtship, morals, and marriage in ancient Regency England.

Believed to have been suffering from Addington's disease, Jane Austen died on 18 July 1817. She now lies buried in the northward aisle of the nave in Winchester Cathedral in Winchester, England.

Jane Austen is renowned for her works Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, and Persuasion, and for her humour and social observations. Some of the other popular works include Mansfield Park, Lovers' Vows, and Northanger Abbey.
