What Does A Chinese Ferret Badger Look Like?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Chinese Ferret badger is easily distinguishable from other species of badgers on account of its unique facial markings; the markings consist of black and white stripes in a pattern which makes the badger appear as if it is wearing a mask. The Chinese ferret badger is on an average about 5 ft in length; the body is covered with black fur. The ferret badger is found in southern China, parts of north east India and South East Asia.

It lives mainly in burrows and being a nocturnal animal comes out generally at night time or dusk to search for food. Its diet mainly consists of fruits, insects, worms and small animals like rodents; it is adept at climbing trees and its sharp teeth and claws make it a formidable hunter. The Chinese ferret badger unlike most animals of the Mustelidae family has anal glands which secrete foul smelling chemicals.
