Chinese are very specific in constructing their homes in traditional fashions. Still in this age, they follow their traditions and have the tradition of making their houses towards south. The foundation or base of the most of the houses is made up of pounded earth and in some cases wood. Roofs are made up of variety of materials depending upon the wealth of the people. However, majority uses roofs made up of clay. Wooden frameworks which determine the size of the houses are also very important to consider. Chinese prefer to have courtyard in their houses and have regional variations with varying interiors and decorators in their homes.
