What Is The National Flower Of Scotland?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The thistle has been the national emblem as well as the national flower of Scotland. The history of the national flower of Scotland goes years back when the Vikings were about to attack the Scotland people in the dark. The time was when the Scottish fighting men were resting in a field and the Vikings decided to attack them. They came in dark, barefoot and stood over a patch of thistle there. They shouted out of pain when tears rolled down from their eyes and these Viking attackers ran back. This was the time when the Scottish awakened and they made thistle the national flower. Therefore there is no reason to be shocked if a thorny flower has become the national flower of a country.
