How Do I Prevent My Dog From Eating Her Own Poo?

My dog use to do this. What we did was when we caught him, we scolded him severely. He stopped doing it after awhile.

The vet said it was caused by one of two things. Either the dog is lacking something in his diet or he is eating it because he knows he is not suppose to potty in the house and is trying to hide it.

I have heard that there is a pill that you can give them that makes the poor nasty tasting?

My dog used to do this and I called the vet they said its a bad habit they get into like people smoking.. So they gave me some powery stuff to put in his food to actually make his poo taste worse and eventually he gave up eating it...
