What Is A Chief Executive?

A chief executive is a highest-ranking corporate officer in an organization. In the organizational hierarchy of the company, chief executive officer comes on the top with the several subordinate executives. Chief executive is the controller of the business and he is the one who is directly accountable in front of board of directors. In different companies, different names have been given to chief executive like in airline industry, he is known as First officer. In European countries, there are two boards including executive board and supervisory board and Chief executive presides over the executive board. Moreover, high compensations and rewards are given to chief executive when company gets the desirable goals and at the same time the job riskiness of chief executive is also higher.
