Before filing the claim you must check the conditions mentioned in the unemployment insurance law to qualify for receiving unemployment compensation.
Following are some general reasons for which your claim can be rejected:
    1. If you have quit your job voluntarily then you will no longer remain eligible for getting the compensation.
    2. If you are fired due to some misconduct then you then you will be disqualified for receiving benefits.

    3. You must be earning more then some specified amount (mentioned in the Insurance Law) before you are unemployed due to some valid reason.
    4. There will be some provisions about removal from job in case if you were on some strike due to some labor dispute. Normally there is certain time period that has to be observed (as mentioned in your state law).
    5. You will disqualify also if have rejected some good job without any valid reason after or before filing the unemployment claim.

    6. You should fulfill the base period and alternate period requirements (as mentioned by the state law) otherwise you will be disqualified.
    7. You must be fully capable of doing work otherwise you will be disqualified.
All the disqualification will last as long as any of the above conditions are true and you will be able to receive benefits as soon as these are removed.

I’m sorry, but as an American Citizen I can quit any job, and still receive benefits. The government cannot stop me from receiving benefits just because I quit any employer. First of all in the State of Florida they have the right to work law, and this also includes the right to quit! Any state government that forces you to keep a job because you are seeking high wages is unjust and criminal. I myself have stated these facts to the State of Florida and the State has granted my employment benefits in full.
