Writing a CV, with a professional appearance is not an easy task, and yet folks succeed in doing this all the time. One reason is they spend some time studying other CV's and getting new ideas to incorporate into their CV. Very often it is the arrangement of our information on the paper, which causes the CV to appear professional or unprofessional. Other times it is the paper, on which we print the CV. If, the paper is 20 weight, glossy white or a soft beige, silver, blue or green shade with a matching envelope, it adds to the appearance. Women want neatness and men want simplicity; we have to combine these attributes to give our CV a professional look; it will be seen by women and men.
My suggestion is to visit some of the professional websites and take a good look at sample CV's, which have been prepared by specialists. Some sites offer free CV Templates you can download. Notice the wording, the placement of each item of the CV on the paper. Notice the spacing of: the margins, the paragraphs, or sections, the font size (12 point Times Roman is most preferred font). Notice everything about the appearance of the CV on page.
Compare your CV with what you see on the screen, how can you arrange your information to create the professional appearance of the professional CV's you view. Of, course you cannot copy their work, but you can learn from them and apply that knowledge to your personal CV.
Enter Sample CV's, into the search bar and click. You get pages of websites, browse some of them. Then fix your CV, so it will appear professional and pleasing to the eye. Show it to a few people and get their reaction. Ask, what was your first impression, before you read anything? If, you need to make some changes it will be worth your while. Good Luck!
