You for sure don't get it back with your tax return. I know that for a fact because I just got mine done and no stimulus check. But to get the stimulus check you must file your return to qualify and I'm guessing we'll prob get them a month or two earlier than last year depending when you file your return too.

No, you don't have to file anything if you receive social security or ssi. You will automatically receive a check per person for $250 either in your mailbox or direct to your bank account which ever way you now receive your regular monthly check.
Look i don't know if we get a stimulus check but lets think for a (min) if you work that money belongs to you anyway .and if we get a check just remember Mr. Sam the guy who took from you the first time it's our money we're just getting it back just to give it back . Think about ?

Were not getting an actual check like we did for 600 dollars...they are just taking out 14 dollars less per paycheck until we git our stimulus that way, basically you just get an extra 14 dollar a check till it accrues to 400-800 bucks depending on what financial level you're at

Ok, everyone should actually read the news. Stimulus checks will begin in June (maybe a bit sooner.) They will be $400 per person and $800 per married couple. You won't get it when you file you're taxes but you do HAVE to file before you can receive it.

Stimulus checks are nothing more than a welfare handout to make uneducated people believe that the government is trying to fix the economy. In reality spending/handing out billions of dollars is going to do nothing to stimulate the economy and only put this country into more debt that our children and grandchildren will be paying on for years to come.
If they want to fix this mess than they need to cut federal programs like welfare, stop sending millions of dollars to countries who dislike us, give tax breaks to middle class Americans who are the ones cutting back on their spending, and lastly give huge tax incentives to companies who grow their businesses and hire more employees.
Giving people a few hundred dollars isn't going to fix shit.

Yeah take the money from the people that really need it and give it to upper middle class.. Gee I wonder where you fall into this?? Everyone wants help for themselves only and not other people. Yeah that is how you fix the economy Give me millions and take away programs that keep people fed and in their houses.
I think that there are a lot of people out there that need welfare and cutting that will ,take children homeless and not have med coverage so if you need help like millions of americans you should get help. We would all be better if everyone helped each other.

This is ridiculous the way people think these "stimulus" checks are helping anyone. Everyone who pays taxes,,,those of us who have to pay more for those who don't,,,which is socialism,,,have to pay tax on it,,and pay it all back. Its just ONE HUGE LOAN. Take an economics class before asking for money from the government. It's just a welfare or "socialism" check and we that work hard and make a decent living,,,have to pay all of this back,,and then some for those that don't work at all ,and its costing so much that we are soon going to all "be the same" whether you work hard or sit home on your ass,,,how is that fair???? The liberals in the government want to make Everything "EQUAL" which is just simple for "everyone suffer" whether you work hard or not. Now really,,even if you're sitting on public assistance,,you must know this is not fair. I don't want this check,,I didn't want the last one,,,but I have to pay tax on it,,whether I cash it or not. You know its poeple like you who make the less money makers or welfare poepl have a bad name now let me tell u something i am married with 2 kids i work 2 jobs 1 full and one part time i get up at 4am and dont get home until after 8pm and i draw foodstamps and hud now what i dont get is everyone bashes people on welfare bc you all think we sit on our asses well your wrong i am a hatrd worker and a wonderful mother and wife and yes i think the stimulas will weather i have to pay or not as of right now it will helpme with my bills dont judge others its wrong until u know the facts yes there ppl out there that draw welfare and sit on their asses but alot of us dont thats what pisses me off now m sister has 5 kids no husband and does get help from goverment but she also works 2 jobs and pay her taxes just me n you so see eveyone is not so bad so give us a bad name we akll greedy in our own way so think about that
Granted that there may be people who do sit at home on their asses all day there are a lot of us who lost our jobs due to the way the economy is going. I went from bringing home 3,000 every two weeks to nothing due to this bullshit. Honestly to all of you assholes on here the shit yall are saying about welfare is pretty offensive. Right now I will take $250 or $900 or whatever just to survive. Be serious and realize your blessed just to still have you job because a lot of other people aren't.
I have a brother in law that got one last week, about one month after doing his taxes H&r block called him to come pick up some paperwork, he got there and they handed him a 1200 check, they said it was a second stimulus check for this year!!!! He didn't argue!

The only ones getting a stimulus check is anyone on SS. It will be paid in May.
Help goes to the ppl who lost their jobs in the recent economic slump first in the form of $250 on top of a $150 check. Those who still have their jobs will receive $13 more per week on their paychecks. Personally, as a middle class american citizen i don't care about not getting a direct check. I realize that there r ppl who have lost their jobs and r much worse off than me even if i have had so sacrifice a lot due to all of the shit that's been going on recently. Stimulus checks will put us in a huge debt that most likely will become a problem in the future. But right now, there r ppl out there that need that money. I should hope that i will have raised my family well enough so that my grandchildren will care enough about other people family or not to see that even though they may encounter hardships because of this, it will have been worth it to help others who are suffering now.

Good call on that you hit the nail on the head with that thought.... And ooooo boy how about that $25 added to my $95 a week in unemployment i get along with my wifes $480 a month as a haire stylist. I would like to know are we receiving check as our stimulus payment or is it going on peoples pay checks. I think some people sould receive checks like myself, because of the fact that i was laid off in january 2008 from my job, and im pregnant. Nobody wants to hire me now cause im a risk factor on the job. I filed my taxes in 2008, and i qualify for the stimulus payment, so what are women like me suppose to do. I dont think its fare if we dont receive anything.

It's $13 from your pay check starting in june 2009 to 2010, then it's only $8 back per pay check!!!

If you are on SS you will get a check sometime in May. If you get your SS direct deposited,

Ok as for the asshole who said it is a welfare hand out. I had to go on it a few months back because of my health! And let me tell you something I would much rather be out of all this pain & be able to work my ass off like I use to, and let someone have my stimulus check.

My parents received their check for $500 last week. One is a tax payer; the other is retired. We get $500 per tax payer if we make over a certain dollar amount. Yes, this is TINY compared to what corporate America gets paid and I believe it will affect our income tax refund or payment when we file next spring. Go ahead and teach your kids now about economics--they're the ones who will pick up this tab when we're all dead and buried. As far as those on welfare--many are repeat collectors. Those of us who were required to pay for our entire college tuition and cover our own interest just to find steady employment do get tired of spreading our middle-class "wealth" to MANY, NOT ALL, of the welfare people who have never searched for employment. Now, it is too late. The jobs are gone. So is our money. It will get worse and the middle class will join the poor if we do not wake up and try to save SOME of the money our dear government does not take away and give to others.
Bring on the debt and hopelessness. Do not trust government. We never should have to begin with. The only true and hopeful entity is the Lord who is trying to extend His hand to any who will take it.
