Whose Record Did Michel Schumacher Broke In 2003 For Maximum Number Of WDC Titles In Formula 1?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In 2003, Michael took his sixth World Driver's Championship (WDC) and broke the existing record of 5 records held by Juan Manuel Fangio. Fangio is the only race car driver to win five WDC titles (1951 to 1957) with four different teams (Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz and Maserati.) Of his 51 Grands Prix he won an incredible 24 which is still the best winning percentage. He is a legend in himself and without doubt one of the finest race car drivers who ever lived.

Michael Schumacher was the perfect person to follow Fangio. He is famous for his ability to excel under pressure and his capacity to push both himself as well as his car to the very limit. But he is best known for his driving abilities in wet conditions. Over the years, Schumacher has won many awards and currently he holds practically every record in Formula One. He won his seventh world championship in 2004. Schumacher and his partner Rubens Barrichello have completed the most 1-2 finishes in F1 history (24).
