Usually the parvo vaccination does the job, but not always.

Theren is no cure for parvo. The vaccine is a preventative measure only. You can't give the vax if the dog already has parvo. And yes breakthroughs can happen due to the virus mutating. If the vax protocol was not followed then the vax will have no effect.
