Dogs Nose Is Dry And Has Puss, Why?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

A dog nose is dry but has pus, How it is possible? Pus infected secretions from the nose of a dog can be due to tooth infection, parasitic infections at the superior regions of nasal cavities, chronic or acute inflammation  of nasal cavity due to bacteria, virus, fungus, pneumonia, pharyngitis, influenza, and bronchitis. You should watch for other symptoms like coughing, sneezing, breathing through mouth, lethargy, loss of appetite etc and take your dog to vet for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Moist or dry nose in dogs does not indicate health or illness. But nose should not be runny.

My dog is 18 yr's old Border Collie mix,he's been diagnosed with cancer, with having a few tumours on the outside of his rectum. His nose has green/yellow stuff coming from it along with it being "very" dry and cracked. It appear's this is why is solely because of the cancer not because of any infection, because he was put on antibiotic's for 7 day's with no  change what so ever.
