How Many Know What To Do If An Alligator Is Chasing You?

Run like hell.  Sis do you have any idea how fast those things are at a short distance.  We have massive crocodiles where we live and they are a lot more aggressive and bigger than Alligators.

I will definitely brake all land records for the fastest runner ever.

The real answer is run in a zig zag because alligators can't zig zag. They can out run a horse in 50 yard dash but they can't manuver side to side.

:giggle: I know .. No Floridians.. But really sistagirl.. The real Floridian just tries to outrun them in the golfcart.. Cuz most of the gators are on the course.. There's always beating them with golf clubs..

BTW do you remember that time we went fishing off the alley.. I think Codester was really young at the time... We saw that gator near where we were and decided to move on.. But you lobbed a rock at it?????

If I had a large stick or bat handy,  I would grab it and run like the sprint, If he snapped at me I would give him the stick in the mouth, and run some more.

Stay out of the water or their territory or have one of those james bond CO2 guns to literally blow it up like a balloon...bloop bloop.. Or like the tiger question run for life charie brown!!!!!

Run in a zig zag duh! They can't turn well! They may be really fast but you zigzag and maybe if there's a good climbing tree close run up it! Also, I'd try to distract it, like throwing things near it (probably not at it though...) and uh... Yeah.

An alligator can run faster than a race horse for about 40 yards. So think of something other than running.

Don't tell Nascar that I answered this, but the real answer is; Just stop, turn around and shoot it with your double barrell shotgun. Because around here, everybodys' got one. Especially if you are somewhere that you might encounter a gator.
If you are from up north and don't have a shotgun, and there's no tree around to climb, then poke it's eyes out so it can't see you while it's eating you.
Oh, by the way, a gator can climb up a tree for a few feet, so better make sure you climb high enough.

If you run in zigzags like its the end of your life, then duhrr, it might save you, then hell, yeah! Do that ! Or climb the nearest tree and get out your machine gun. Cheeyow!cheeyow!cheeyow!

If you have never been to any of the southern states and have never had any dealings or knowledge of "gators".......Please run as fast and as far as you can and stay away from their habitats, they are also very territorial.
