The Tucker premiered on June 19th, 1947 as the 1948 Tucker.
It had the nickname of "The Tin Goose".
It was originally powered with a 589 C.I. Engine in the original 7 race cars.
The production models featured a 335 C.I., 166 BHP, 6 Cyl. Franklin Helicopter engine.
This engine was a horizontally opposed aircraft engine adapted for use in an automobile.
I do not know if this was the first aircraft engine used in an auto.
