My 1998 Sunfire 2200 Sfi Starts Up 4 3 Secounds Then Shuts Off Why? The Theft System Stays On

    There is either a problem with your key or with the anti theft system in the car.

    Do you have more then one key? Try the other one.

    If not you will probably have to take the car to the dealer.

      Your 1998 sunfire donot have a chip in the key so most likely it is your ignition.To resrt the system turn the key to run position until security light goes out

      The restart only work when the theft light blink. If the light stay on you lost your connection to the pcm (located in the right fender)

        Check your harness of wire under the front bumper (about 75 wires)you should find some of them with corrosion or cut.just put it back together you should be ok
