 What Does The Surname Mareno Mean?
This is my grandfather's surname.

 The surname Mareno originated in Spain and is therefore Hispanic in origin. It means 'comes from the Sea'. A person coming from a village close to the sea would have been refered to as 'El Mareno'. Likewise f the man worked in an area that had to do with boats or fishing he may also have been called Mareno.
