What Happened In The Music Video For Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'?

The video opens with Michael and his date. They walk into a forest after his car breaks down, and he asks her to be his girlfriend. After asking her this, he warns that he is different from other people.

This becomes apparent when Michael becomes to transform into a were-wolf type creature when the full moon appears. He attacks his date, and the video moves on to Michael and his date in the cinema, who have been watching the incident along with everyone else. His date is scared and leaves. Michael follows her, stating that it is 'just a movie'.

The couple then walk past a graveyard. As they walk past, corpses begin to rise from their graves. Vincent Price, a horror actor, contributed to this part of the video, where his voice could be heard describing what was happening.

Zombies appear, surrounding the couple. At this point, Michael's date turns around only to discover that he is one of them. Michael and the zombies begin to dance and perform the song, whilst his date flees. Michael and the zombies chase her, but she is woken by Michael just as they reach her, as though she has dreamt the whole thing.

The video ends with Michael about to take his date home, at which point he turns to face the camera and grins, his eyes the same colour as they were when he transformed in the were-wolf creature.

'Thriller' was the most expensive video at the time (it cost $800,000 to make) and was the world's longest music video. This record was beaten in 1996, when Michael Jackson released his single, 'Ghost', which had a 35 minute long music video.
