Who First Invented The Game Cricket?

Answer Question

Cricket is one of the oldest team sports around. It is played by two teams having 11 members each. It is played with a bat and ball on a cricket field, having a pitch in the middle.

Accurate references suggest that cricket was a common game in England as early as 16th Century. However, researchers have even come to the conclusion that a form of cricket called Creag was played by Prince Edward at Newenden, Kent in 1301.

However, 1598 is the year having definite reference of this game. A case was filed against the boys of Royal Grammar School Guildford for playing  crekett. But there is no definite clue as to who actually invented this game and when.
