How Long Before You Can Feel Kittens Moving Inside The Mother Cat?
We have just found out she is pregnant and have no idea how far along she is
Answers
Uterine enlargement can be palpated by day 25-30 days. On x-ray uterine enlargement can be noted sometime between day 21 and 42. The fetal skeleton calcifies at day 45 and can be seen on x-rays. This is the most accurate way to estimate the number of kittens. At this time they are easily felt. Usually around week 4 the abdomen notably starts distending.
Ultrasound can be used to diagnose pregnancy at day 26 and later can be used to measure the fetuses and try to estimate the due date.
