What Are The Steps Involved In Post-operative Care For A Facelift?

Answer Question

For most surgical procedures, the post-operative phase is very important, as that is when there are maximum chances of things going wrong, an infection, an allergic reaction, etc. This is true about a face lift as well. The post-operative phase requires the patient to exercise extreme care, and immediately consult the surgeon at the slightest hint of discomfort or pain or any sign of things going wrong.

Quite a few things can go wrong after a face lift. Sometimes, you might find small volumes of blood gathering in the area behind the ear lobe. If you face such a situation, immediately consult the surgeon. He can take care of the problem by draining the blood using a small tube. The tube can be taken off a couple of days later.

One good thing about rhytidectomy is that there is minimal pain or discomfort. In case you feel any pain, normal pain medication in small dosages is usually enough. However, there have been cases when the pain has been for a prolonged period. In such cases, the matter could be slightly more complicated, and your surgeon would be best able to decide what to do about it.
