What Is Wrong W/ Our 5 Yr Old St. Bernard?
She is lethargic, not eating or drinking much. Normally an outside dog, only let in basement to sleep this time of year. She has an open sore on her back that appears to be infected. I gave her a bath last night to get a closer look, her hind-end is covered with scabs, most of which are not attached anymore. I know that she ran off w/ the neighbor dog, and came back smelling like a skunk. The weather has been inconsistent-hot&cold. Is this hot spots, mange, flea reaction. No intestinal or joint soreness.

I'd get her to the vet ASAP!
First of all you need to know what kind of infection is on her back; for all you know, she just might have gotten into a fight with a skunk or some other "wild" animal in your area when she ran off with the neighbor's dog.
Please get her taken care of right away. And please let us know how it goes.

Yes u need to get her to the vet. The things that came to mind was, either a type of ring worm, that is contagious to other animals as well as Humans!! Or it might be mange! So please get her checked and dis-infect her blankets/ toys.. And ur bathtub that u gave her a bath in.. I'm thinking it could be mange due to the skunk smell that u said.. Cuz it does seem to stink.. Hope everything goes well. Keep us posted please
