It would be a good idea to purchase a laptop case or bag. Alternatively, you could use a briefcase. Briefcases may be a better option because they have a lock on them, which will make your laptop secure. However, you could purchase a type of padlock to fix onto the zips of a laptop travel bag.

Travel bags are useful because they can hold other important items, such as documents and discs that you need for your laptop. They are also lighter than briefcases and easier to carry as most laptop travel bags come with a shoulder strap.

Travel bags also look more stylish (if you're bothered about that sort of thing) and there are different ranges of colours and fabrics than there are for briefcases. It depends what suits your taste, but either of these would be a good purchase, especially if you carry your laptop around quite often.

Actually, I found a product called the Totegrip that is way cool. I can't do without it now. It is a little handle that you put around the lid of your laptop and let's you grab your laptop in an instant and go. You know how many times you want to move your computer while it is still running. The Totegrip lets you easily do that, just keep the screen open and grab the handle - it's so easy! I rarely use my bag now that I have the ToteGrip laptop handle to carry around my notebook computer. Oh, and in the airport, pulling my laptop out of my hard case to run it through security is much easier too. The site is:
