How Long Does Methadone Stay In Your System?

I was taking 230mls (115 x2 daily) for severe chronic pain in my feet & addiction management for about 4 years. The pain has gotten so terrible and surgery is NOT an option @ this point,unless I want to be in a wheelchair again,but forever this time,F' that! I took my last dose (230 ml) 6 days ago & switched immediately to the Fentanyl patch (100). And I am still experiencing major withdrawals,and i am prescribed 16 mg's of Dilaudid,90 mg's of Oxazepam and Clonodine (.4 mg's) daily,and still am rolling around in bed like an crocodile,moving around in a very weird & strange manner (like a seizure sort of) sweating bullets,very little sleep,vivid,very vivid dreams that are not pleasant. So I disagree with whoever stated that it only stays in (my) system for 3 days. I am still urinating with methadone in it. Oh yeah Hot&cold,hot&cold,hot&cold. I hope I have gotten through this rough patch,but I know that I am not out of the woods with getting the (Fentanyl) dosage right. Thank-you, Immodium!

Hi can i ask you a question?? Did you wean off the 70mg before leaving the clinic or leave while you were still on 70mg?? I go to a clinic and I've tried coming down.. Once i went from 110mg to 0mg in 3 weeks and that was hell!! I couldn't stand it after a few days and had to check back in. So i was just wondering if you left there at 70mg and if you had any withdraw symptoms? Thanks!

IT TAKES 5DAYS,,,,,AND THEN HELL BEGINS AFTER kicking,hurting, and the whole nine yards,,it is the worse  feeling in life,,it really  is,,,i been on methadone for 5 years,and i tryed to kick meth,,,,,i stop taking it for 4days and i felt  like i was going die,,,,,it is no joke trying to kick meth,,on your own,,,it wont work,,i know fuzz37 aka jr,,,,,

I apologise about (apparently) writing for too lo g...I was in a very deep intense violently sick from the methadone withdrawals. It's hard to read for me,so sorry to you all. I was hallucinating a lot more than I imagined,I was not expecting it to get as vicious as it was / has been.All of it is true,but very sorry for going as far as i did. I should not have been typing whatsoever this past week.

It depends on how much u take and how long u have been taking it.   70 mg will def take more then 3 days, try 10-14 days

I have been off methadone for 5 weeks now to the day and methadone is still in my system. It does feel more like more than 5 weeks,more like 5 months & still have major withdrawal symptoms,still no appetite feels like a sewer is in my skin/body,feel gross,time goes by slow,ect.

7 to 10 days if your not taking alot of it, if you take numerouses amount a month to rid your sytem

7-10 days. Your withdrawal is going to be awful. And more than likely you'll feel withdrawal symptoms long after the 7-10 days.    I would get some clonidine , benzos, and something over the counter for your stomach. It's extremely difficult to get through the wd   w/out taking a different type of opiate.

I know that just taking one 10mg pill a week stays in your system for 3 - 5 days.  So in your case it will probably will take at least three weeks to a month depending on how long you were taking it.

Traces of Methadone can stay in your system up for 60-90 days. Even though the effects of the medication may have worn off, the evidence that you took it will linger in the system.

From all the info I know, it persists for up to 3 days at a level detectable by a drug screen(and this is from a drug test manuf., not hersay).

I would think 3 days just like opiates, but hmmm I do not know if I would bet on it. I do although believe you are going to the family doctor for a scrip due to the detox symptoms..... Why did you stop the clinic? Send a private e-mail to me if you wish I just wonder if you made it or not!
