    Persistence of memory is a painting by Salvador Dali. It is one of his most famous and well known works of art. It was created in 1931. It is an oil on canvas painting. Salvador Dali is a Spanish artist and is considered as one of the most important painters who lived in the 20th century. His work is characterized by surrealism and his images are often striking and bizarre.

    This painting is known as La persistencia de la memoria in Latin. This painting is also known by other names such as Soft watches, Droopy watches, Melting Clocks or Saggy Sacks. Now this painting is found at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. This painting has been in this museum since 1934. Though the artist has also made several other paintings and tried his hand at many other things this is his best work.
