Smarden is a civil parish and also a rural settlement that is located in the west of Ashford in Kent, South East England, United Kingdom. St Michael church is located in this very village and is also known as "The Barn of Kent", due to its very wide scissor-beamed roof, unsupported by pillars. In this very church lies a copy of the Charter, which was first given by Edward III and endorsed by Elizabeth I. This copy granted permission to the village to hold a weekly market and annual fair.
The Chequers Inn is one of the most famous places to stay at Smarden. What attracts tourist to this Inn is the historical mysteries and the pub. The two top Smarden attractions are St Michael the Archangel and Kent's Native Architecture Hall Houses. Snarden is the most beautiful village in Kent. And also manages to attract a huge number of tourists.
