The monitor, mouse, keyboard, printer etc. Are NOT the types of computers. They are actually known as peripheral devices which are attached to the computer to perform various tasks. These are also classified as computer hardware. Do not get confused with computer hardware and computer types. As far as types of computer are concerned, a computer can be classified according to size, variation and other attributes. There are four basic types of computers such as super computer, mainframe computer, minicomputer and micro computer. Among these, micro computer is the smallest in size and most portable as compared to other computer types. It is the same computer which we use at our homes. Minicomputer is usually used in offices and is bigger in size as compared to micro computer. Main frame and Super computers are used by the big industries to carry out difficult and complex tasks.
