The world's largest shopping mall is located in Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. The centre is popular with Canadians wanting to come inside and escape the cold winter climate.

The centre covers an area of 500,000 square metres, cost CA$1.2 billion to build and contains over 600 stores.  With services and parking for 20,000 vehicles, it is also the world's biggest car park!

The centre employs more than 23,000 people and more than 22 million people visit the centre each year.

As well as major and smaller department stores, there are other attractions in the shopping centre.  Galazyland is a major amusement park with more than 20 rides and attractions.  They include the triple loop Mindbender roller coaster.

Also found in the centre is World Waterpark, which is North America's largest indoor waterpark, at over 20,000 square metres.  The park includes several water slides including the 25 metre high Twister slide.

Deep Sea Adventure is an indoor lake that contains a salt-water habitat with performing sea lions, and a replica of Christopher Columbus' ship the Santa Maria which has been known to be used in fundraising events at Christmas for underprivileged kids.
