Our 11 Years Old Welsh Terrier Dislocated Her Hip Last Week. We've Consulted A Surgeon About 'options'. Do Es Anyone Have Experience In This Area? Left To Itself, Would 'compensating' Scar Tissue Then Develop Around The Injury?

In other words, do such injuries self-heal or self-compensate? Some of the possible solutions given us sound less than 100% certain or only partially restorative. All of them are expensive. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

A dislocated hip will not "self-heal" or "self-compensate."  One of the surgical options is the best thing for your dog.  It would be very painful for her to walk around on a dislocated joint permanently.  Dislocated joints are very painful ask anyone who has suffered this injury.  Talk to your referring veterinarian to discuss the options presented to determine the best solution for your dog.  Your referring veterinarian knows your dog, her lifestyle, and your goals for therapy.
