When You Want To Get Away From Work And Home, Where Can You Go To Relax For A Couple Of Hours?

This is a problem for lots of people, especially women. I once went to a "stress management" seminar, where most of the women (and some men) talked about dreading going home because just as you finish work, all these tasks at home suddenly come rushing up at you!
They found solutions like these:
Carve out a space of your own, which is yours every day. Where you go is less important than the fact that this time is yours and no one else's. Some people recommended just stopping for a quick coffee on the way home. Others advised just walking, quietly, by yourself, for an hour (it's easier if you've got a dog.) Myself, I recommend taking up something like yoga or meditation, because once you've learned the basics you can apply it to everyday life as well (breathing deeply in stressful situations etc.) Or you might just go and sit in the park/ garden, do a crossword, whatever you find relaxing.
I think the key is not so much finding a specific activity, as freeing yourself to have a little private time, and feeling good about doing so.
