    Manhattan is categorized as an island as well as a borough of New York City. New York State holds the New York City. It the largest city in New York and United States (North America). It covers an area of 321 sq Km and has a population of 8,213,839.

    Manhattan Island is encircled by the River Hudson on the west and the River East on the east. It is separated from The Bronx and mainland United States by River Harlem. The Manhattan borough contains the Manhattan Island and smaller islands – Randal's Island, Ward's Island, Roosevelt Island, Ellis Island, Liberty Island and Governor's Island.
    Many bridges and tunnels connect Manhattan to New Jersey in its west, The Bronx in northeast, Brooklyn and Queens (Long Island) in east and south. The region's rail line comes together at Penn Station on west and Grand Terminal Station on east of Midtown Manhattan. The Lincoln Tunnel carries 120,000 every day from beneath Hudson River.
