    You had the water level to high in the bowl.

      Try a bigger bowl too. Less water of course as David stated. Change the scenery once a week or so. Taking out just one item and placing another in it's place will do wonders.

      Thank you sooooooo much, i was freaking out one day, because i couldnt find my fish in his bowl, then when i cleaned my room, i found him behind the bowl, ewwwwww. But he was old. And now i have 2 new fishys. Akey and Mercury. They are the cutest lil fish

        He got bored and tired of being alone...  Or wanted to see if he could fly..... Just joking. For what ever reason Betta fish tend to do that. They are also aggressive so you don't want to have a different species than their own or they will go after them
