Tell Me Something About Future Of Web Services?

Answer Question

Web services is very good and interesting feature of .NET. Again, Microsoft technology. Web services are application components .It communicate using open protocols its platform elements are SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration), WSDL (Web Services Description Language) .

In future it will surely be of great use but don't expect something very soon because some things needs time to prove itself. It still misses many important features like security and routing. But, these pieces will come once SOAP becomes more advanced. Hopes Web service helps. Web services have two types of uses. 1) Reusable application components 2) Connect existing software. Web applications are simple applications run on the web. These are built around the Web browser standards and can mostly be used by any browser on any platform. Future of web services is very bright what we have to do is ; Just wait and watch.

Web Services have absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft in specific. They are a W3C standard for distributed programming of interoperable software pieces regardless of the technology used. The first implementation of that technology was found in the Java environment - Microsoft implemented the standards much later even though they were part of the "making the standard" process. But WS are neither M$ technology nor a particular .NET feature.

Both Java and .NET provide powerful frameworks for writing WS / SOA based applications. As WS become more and more mature from the process management point of view, they have a great present and future and will most certainly determine how we will write software for quite a while.
