What Year Did The Battle Of Somme Take Place?

    The Battle of the Somme was fought between 1st July-18th November 1916.There where approximately 1.5 million casualties during this period.Although this war will be remembered for the 1st day of this battle as 19,240 men lost their lives on the first day,the bloodiest day in British Army history.
