Sea bream is defined as any of the various marine food fishes of the family Sparidae or Bramidae.  Bream is a term used for number of marine and freshwater species. The species could belong to the Acanthopagrus, Brama, Argyrops, Blicca, Etelis, Nemipterus, Lethrinus, Gymnocranius, Scolopsis, or Rhabdosargus genera. Being a general term, sea bream does not imply relation between species of these genres. However fish termed 'bream' are usually deep, narrow bodied species.
