It is definitely true. While it may seem strange, skipping breakfast can lead to weight gain, loss of energy and it can cause you to become irritable throughout the morning. This is because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You are asleep for at least eight hours (or at least you should be!) and your body needs nutrients and energy when you wake up.
Skipping breakfast causes your body to slow down its metabolism. This is something that we needed when we were cavemen and women. It is trying to protect us from starvation. Eating breakfast helps to speed up your metabolism and fills you up until lunch time.
You could also become irritable if you skip breakfast and you concentration levels won't be in full swing. There are some quick foods you can have if you are busy such as bagels, toast, crumpets, fruit and croissants. Overall you really shouldn't miss breakfast if you help it, no matter how busy you are.
