I've heard about the emerging technology of airborne networks, but was wondering how it works.

    The Airborne Network is definitely a form of emerging technology. Work is being done to create an Internet network where all the nodes are located in an aircraft. This network would primarily be used in aviation communications, navigation, and surveillance.
