Is the house in a community property state?  The fatal words are "in lieu of a will."  If they were in a community property state then the house was just as much hers as his, and as the soul owner now she can probably do as she likes.  Does your stepmother have children?  If not, and if she doesn't have a will when she dies you may have a better legal standing than you do right now.  I'd do two things if I were you:
    1.  Get a good lawyer.  He or she will know far better than anyone here.
    2.  Start mending fences with your father's wife.
Things like this are such a disappointment, but that house, though worth money, is just a thing.  At least you had your father's love and you know it was his desire that you have the house.  That's got to be worth more in your hearts than the house itself.
