Where Is The A5 In The UK?
The A5 road is a major road in the United Kingdom it connects the city of London in the south-east and goes towards the north-west to end up in the large city of Holyhead in Wales.
The A5 is one of the major routes as per the road classification system in use in the United Kingdom. It was originally built in the early nineteenth century to improve connectivity with the city of Dublin in Ireland. In most places it took over or was placed over other existing roads.
The ancient Watling Street, the path of the Celts which was paved by the Romans, also forms part of this Motorway.
The road itself is a trip into England's past with ancient milestones dotting the sides and some toll houses still standing where they were built.
