    Bjorn Borg won the 1981 Men's Singles award during the French Open finals. He defeated Ivan Lendl of Czechoslovakia by 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. He retired from the world of tennis after winning this title. Bjorn Borg is a Swedish Tennis player who has won many awards in the field of tennis. He has also been the World No. 1 tennis player.

    He had a nine year career in which he has won 11 Grand Slam singles tournaments. He set the world record by winning the Wimbledon and the French Open tournaments for three years in a row. He also has the record of winning six French Open titles. He is the youngest tennis player ever to win the Davis Cup in 1972 while he was just 15 years old.
