    ... or in an equation, H+. Organic compounds can be powerful acids. Any compound with a single bonded H where the structure of the rest of the molecules is highly electron withdrawing at this bond, this enhances the ability of the H to leave as H+, the more like, the stronger the stronger acid. This doesnt have to be in an H2O solution either.
