Schindler's List is one of the all time best movies ever produced. The Academy Award winning movie was directed by Steven Spielberg in the year 1993, and is based on a book named, Schindler's Ark written by Thomas Keneally. The book was later rechristened to Schindler's List as well.

The movie is about a German Catholic businessman named Oscar Schindler, who was instrumental in saving the lives of about 1,200 Polish Jews during the Holocaust. The title refers to a list of names of Jews whom Schindler had hired to work in his factory thus saving them from being sent to concentration camps.

Schindler's list consists of the names of those workers whom Oscar Schindler wanted to save and who were categorised as skilled and essential workers in his factory. Schindler bribed and pleaded with the officials to allow him to keep his workers while all the others who failed to get into his list were tortured and killed by the Nazis.
