There is plenty of over the counter medicine for ear aches now. I found out the other day when I was in that aisle of the store. It isn't too expensive, and it would be healthier than other possible injurious methods.
After thinking about it a little more, there could also be a real ear infection going on, and it might require antibiotics, so the sooner you can see a doctor, probably the better. Hope this helps.

It does sound like an ear infection, you can get medicine over the counter, just be sure to give them the proper symptoms as there are many different types and some drops / medicines might make it worse if not properly "diagnosed".
At home you can try keep your nose open, keep your ears & throat wrapped up and try rest. Whatever you do though if it doesn't get better, be sure to make an appointment with the doctor today (if you have to wait)as they will definitely be able to determine what type of infection it is and give you an antibiotic that can help. If it has cleared up before your appointment date is close, you can always cancel it.
Take care of yourself.Hope you feel better soon.

The olive oil treatment is normally what my mom used. However that is just a palliative and will not cure an infection, which left untreated could have serious implications. Be sure to see a Dr.

If it's some kind of an ear infection (which is what it sounds like), there's really nothing you can do without antibiotics to cure it.  In the case of an inner or middle ear infection, this can become a very painful condition, and unless you have an exceptionally strong immune system, the pressure behind the eardrum will continue to build until your eardrum ruptures. When your eardrum ruptures it will relieve the pressure, and with it a lot of the pain... And in time your body will more than likely be able fight off the infection, but that's not a risk worth taking. Both long term infection or a ruptured eardrum can cause scar tissue to develop that can permanently impair your hearing... And there is the possibility that the infection could spread to the sinuses and then even to the brain... Sorry, but you need to see a dr.

Here's some info that may offer some relief until you can see the doc.
