Steve Carell is an American film and television actor, who is probably most famous for his recent role in the American version of 'The Office' where he plays the embarrassing character of 'Michael Scott'.

Carell was born on the 16th of August 1962 in Concord, Massachusetts. He was educated in his home town, before attending Denision University in Ohio. Upon graduation, he moved to Chicago, where he began to take acting lessons at 'The Second City Troupe'.
Although Carell made his debut in successful film 'Curly Sue' in 1991, he returned to 'The Second City Troupe' as a teacher of improvisation classes.

It was not until starring in the 2003 film 'Bruce Almighty' that Carell hit the big time. Since then, he has co-written and starred in 'The 40-year Old Virgin', and 'Anchorman: the legend of Ron Burgundy' along with various other projects. He is considered to be part of the Frat Pack group of actors.

Carell is married to fellow actress, Nancy Walls and the couple have two children together.
