My Dog Keeps Shaking His Body And Attempting To Scratch The Left Side Of His Head With Anything He Can Find. What Could It Be?

Yesterday when we arrived home from work we noticed our dog had a swollen eye. We took him to the vet and she told us to give him some benadryl and watch him to see if it got worse or better. Well the swelling is gone but now when he is standing up constantly shakes his body as if he just got out of a bath. Also when he' snot shaking he tries to rub the left side of his face on rugs, walls, and us. Left ear is floppy and somewhat sensitive now as well.

Did the vet check for ear mites? Infection in the ears?  look in the ear and see if there is dark dirt like substance. This would be ear mites. Smell ear if a musty Oder then probably an infection. You can use 50%alcohol 50%peroxide as an ear was after baths or swimming. With ears that lay flat upon the head it traps water or dampness in the ear. Causing ear infections. Check with vet again if infected.

Peroxide causes scarring in ears please do not put it in your dogs ears... Talk to a vet before you try home remedies.

They sell car seats but they are expensive. They also have seatbelt attachments that hook to your dogs harness.
