You need to have some knowledge of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) web design to edit your own webpage.  If you see something you like on someone else's site, first check what went into that feature.  You'll need to view the source of the page to see the HTML that went into it.  If images or Javascript are involved, you will have to ask the owner's permission to use those resources.  A lot of work goes into webpage design and layout, so don't expect quick results just by cutting and pasting bits of someone else's site code!
