    Body Mass Index (BMI) is computed as the mass in kilograms divided by the square of the height in meters.

    bmi = mass/height2

    Example
    You weigh 150 pounds and are 5'1" tall.
    150 pounds is 68.04 kg; 61" is 1.549 meters.
    BMI = 68.04/1.5492 = 28.4  (obese)
