A kind of forest lizards which are also found in pastures near forest have brown scales. They scavenge on the forest grounds under leaf litter. They have large ventral scales of brown scales. There bodies are very thin and they do not like to be exposed to the sun for prolonged periods of time. These lizards belong to the Family Xantusiidae. There scientific name is Ptychoglossus plicatus. These types of lizards are very familiar to another kind known as Mabuya unimarginata.

If you are really interested in this type and the lizards or any other species then I suggest that you check up research books or sites on the internet. There are many zoological sites which would offer you more detailed and relevant information on this type of lizards. Asking an expert on these matters would also help. Hence try meeting up with some head of the department of zoology for more information.
