I've Forgotten My Admin Password For Macromedia Contribute, How Can I Retrieve It?

You can't retrieve it, what you need to do is create a new one.

To do this, you will need to login into your site's web space using ordinary an FTP client, you can't carry out this function from within Contribute itself. As you're the administrator, you will have the user name and password to access the web space already.

Once connected, open the root folder of your Contribute web site and then the _mm folder. Inside the _mm folder is an XML file that contains the shared settings. Delete this. Be aware, however, that by doing so you will be deleting all of the group permissions you previously created and these will need to set up again from scratch.

In Contribute, select Edit/My Connections and then select the web site whose shared settings file you have just trashed and click Edit. Follow the step by step wizard and when prompted opt to become the Administrator for the web site. Enter and confirm a new administration password, click OK and then done.
